Hi! My name is Melissa Woo and even though I have a really fun last name (woo!), most people just call me Melissa. Although, feel free to call me whatever you want. I've had my fair share of weird nicknames. :p

I was born in Singapore, and moved all around Asia (Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia) before I moved to Plymouth, MN at the age of 4. Most of my memories are from when I've been living in the U.S., although I do have family in Malaysia that I get to visit every once in a while! They're a pretty awesome crew. I feel very blessed having family from different cultures and backgrounds because I've been able to see and experience many different things! For the past 14 years tho, I've been living in the same house in MN. Minnesota is an awesome place to be, especially with all the snow.

Right now, I'm typing this blog up in my dorm room in Bloomington, IL at Illinois Wesleyan University. Its a small liberal arts college in the middle of almost nowhere so I wouldn't be surprised if you haven't heard of it. Most people haven't. I'm a nursing major here and I'm so excited to get working and be able to serve people the way nurses get to! This year tho... As a freshman, I've been up to my neck in science courses, and unfortunately the study rooms in my dorm basement are my second home. sad. 

Hmm about me.... I played lacrosse in high school and loved it! Its been quite saddening having to let it go in college (my school doesn't have a team :( ). I also love being outside and running around and playing sports! That makes me sound athletic, but I'm really not. I just like to think I am. [Side note: Just last week, I stayed up all night (on accident. its a long story.) and watched the sunrise and it was crazy beautiful. I love seeing God through nature! He never fails to put me in awe of Him. End side note.] I also used to play piano for 11 years before quitting my senior year although I do plunk on the keys every once in a while for fun and worship and both at the same time! :) Eating, pretty much anything, is one of my favorite hobbies! The way to my heart is through my stomach (after Jesus of course). just kidding. 

I'm also pretty versatile and can get along and connect with a lot of different types of people! Bah, I also always feel uncomfortable having to write about my own attributes. haha I'd say I'm quirky and loving. Well, I try to be the latter best I can so I can only hope that I can use that word to describe myself! :p 

Haiti! I'm so very excited for this upcoming summer and thankful that God allowing me to do His work there! I'm really excited to learn more about listening to and depending on the Holy Spirit and getting to see Him work in ways that are unimaginable! God has been putting healing on my mind a lot lately, but I don't really know what to think about it. Just praying on it. :)
